BARGERSVILLE, IN – CMS Corporation (CMS) was awarded the Coalition for Construction Safety (CCS) Outstanding Project Safety Award for their work on the $27M Design-Build Recapitalize Deep Draft Berthing Wharf Charlie C-2, Naval Station Mayport, Jacksonville, FL project at the 25th Anniversary and Awards Celebration on May 2, 2018. The CCS Outstanding Project Safety Award is given to projects that exemplify an outstanding commitment to safety. CCS is dedicated to the elimination of construction and facilities maintenance jobsite injuries and illnesses with the ultimate objective of returning construction and maintenance workers home to their families, friends, and communities free from harm.

CMS CEO Ernest Enrique stated, “CMS successfully and safely navigated a number of unique challenges on this complex project, including extensive dewatering of 10 to 20-foot below sea level excavations, working at heights over water, and over 2,000 crane lifts. Despite these challenges, the CMS project team worked 157,000 labor hours with zero lost-time incidents. Overall, our successful completion of this project has extended the service life of the wharf bulkhead by an additional 50 years.”

CMS continually demonstrates how a company-wide commitment to safety, one of our core values, can deliver outstanding results. Safety awards, metrics, and trends demonstrate the success of our overall safety program. CMS has received several industry awards for safety awareness and zero accidents for our safety program, as well as for many of our individual projects and is proud to add this award to our list of achievements.
