MAUMEE, OH – CMS Corporation (CMS), under a joint venture (JV) arrangement with Alamogordo, NM-based Jack Wayte Construction Co., Inc. (JWC) called RM Builders JV, has been awarded a $225 million Facilities Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization (FSRM) Small Business (SB) Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) by the US Army Corps of Engineering (USACE) Omaha District. (JWC, an 8(a), WOSB, and EDWOSB, is a Protégé to CMS, the Mentor, under an SBA-approved Mentor-Protégé Agreement.)
This contract is 100% set-aside for Small Business, with a 3-year base and 2-year option period of performance. Task orders may range up to $10 million dollars and will be design-build (D-B) or design-bid-build (DBB) for a broad range of FSRM requirements on military installations, civil works facilities, and interagency support projects, e.g., National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and US Dept of Veterans Affairs (VA). The majority of the work is anticipated to be in Colorado and Wyoming; however, projects may also be located elsewhere throughout the USACE Omaha District area of responsibility (CO, WY, MT, ND, SD, NE, MN, WI and IA). Scopes of work will include FSRM projects involving installation of mechanical systems, minor construction of new buildings/structures, renovation projects, repairs to dam and levee structures, paving, and anti-terrorism/force protection (AT/FP) measures.
USACE received 35 proposals. RM Builders is one of only seven firms awarded a contract. The estimated contract completion is October 2024. USACE Omaha District is the contracting agency.
