Maumee, OH – CMS Corporation announced today that it has been awarded a $1.7M Advanced Meter Reading System (AMRS) Metering Implementation project at Vandenberg Space Force Base (SFB), CA. This project was awarded under the Regional Engineering and Construction (RE&C) West IDIQ contract, and comes in as the company’s eighth AMRS project, following projects at Luke Air Force Base (AFB), Maxwell AFB, Peterson SFB, and Camp Atterbury.
This project entails upgrading 97 electric meters with new AMRS-compliant digital meters across 73 facilities. The new meters allow the Government to track energy usage in a more efficient manner. In addition to the electrical meters, other scopes include adding new communication drops, fused safety disconnects and switches, patch panels, new electrical conduit runs, and some underground trenching.
CMS CEO, Ernest Enrique, stated, “CMS is pleased to have the opportunity to upgrade the meters at Vandenberg SFB to help the Government track and reach their energy usage goals. We have built a robust AMRS program with experienced AMRS professionals who will ensure successful and timely project delivery.”
