Maumee, OH – CMS Corporation announced today it has been awarded a $5.7M Design-Build JP-8 Fire Trainer project at Goodfellow AFB, TX. This task order was awarded under CMS’s Regional Engineering and Construction (RE&C) – Central Region prime contract with the US Air Force.
The project includes design and fabrication of a new fixed-wing aircraft apparatus to train DoD basic firefighting students in aircraft rescue and firefighting in accordance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard 1003 for Airport Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications. Training includes low-wing jet engine fire and fuel leak fire (3D) on low wing with a 20-ft by 20-ft ground pool. The scope of the project also includes site work, apron, fencing, concrete, electrical, fuels piping, pumps, oil/water separator, and more.
