Maumee, OH – CMS Corporation, an experienced Department of Defense general contractor, announced today it has been awarded a $4.3M project to repair four aviation fuel hydrant system pumphouses (designated as HS-1 through HS-4) at Andersen AFB, Guam. This project falls under CMS’ Worldwide Engineering and Construction (WE&C) contract with the US Air Force.
Under this task order, CMS will replace a substantial amount of the piping network in each pumphouse with new stainless-steel (SS) piping sections to include reconnection to existing high point vents, low point drains, pressure relief valves, instrumentation connections. Ancillary work includes non-destructive examinations (NDE), new pipe supports, washing soluble salts from the entire pipe network, and replacement of one of four 600-GPM issue pumps and motors at each pumphouse. Additionally, CMS will clean, flush, pressure test, and commission the hydrant system. Work will include some off-site fabrication of SS piping sections, with piping ranging from ½ inch to 16 inches in diameter.
Company CEO, Ernest Enrique, stated, “We are pleased to have the opportunity to support these core components of the hydrant systems at Andersen AFB. This win marks significant growth for our overall fuels program, specifically in Guam, in 2021. As always, it is our priority to deliver this project on-time, on-budget, and with the utmost level of client satisfaction.”
