CMS JV Wins Key Government Year-end Projects

MAUMEE, OH – CMS Corporation (CMS), under a joint venture (JV) arrangement with Alamogordo, NM-based Jack Wayte Construction Co., Inc. (JWC) called RM Builders JV, has been awarded two projects totaling $11.6 million by the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Omaha District. The awards were made under the JV’s $225 million Facilities Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization Small Business Multiple Award Task Order Contract (FSRM MATOC) prime contract with USACE Omaha District. (JWC, an 8(a), WOSB and EDWOSB, is a Protégé to CMS, the Mentor, under an SBA-approved Mentor-Protégé Agreement.) 

In the first award, the JV received a $9.4 million design-build project to demolish and replace the HAZMART building at Minot Air Force Base, ND. Constructed in the 1960s, the existing facility will be demolished and replaced with a new facility designed and constructed within the same footprint. The new facility will provide for approx. 16,328 SF of fully-enclosed operations, administrative, storage, and training space.

The JV was also awarded a second project to repair switchgear at Schriever Air Force Base, CO. Under this $2.2 million design-build project, the JV will remove and replace existing medium voltage switchgear at the Central Utility Plant. The project has options, that if exercised by the Government, could raise the value of the project to well over $5 million.
