Maumee, OH – CMS Corporation (CMS) announced today it has been awarded a $3.6M project for the Design-Build (D-B) Renovation of MDA Building 2410 (B2410) Barracks at Ft. Bliss, El Paso, TX. This project was awarded under CMS’ $450M US Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville Facilities Repair & Renewal (FRR) MATOC.
The scope of work for this project includes the design and construction to repair/replace the R-22 water chilling machine (WCM), air-cooled condensing unit, interconnecting refrigeration piping, primary and secondary chilled water pumps, secondary chilled water variable speed drive and HVAC building automation system controls. Additionally, CMS will upgrade controls on the existing fan coil units and dedicated outside air system rooftop air handling unit, bathroom exhaust fans, and return air grilles in B2410. Work also includes some architectural improvements and new electrical systems.
B2410 consists of two main building sections: a rectangular 3-story structure with a crawlspace and basement, and a 1- story L-shaped structure located perpendicular to the 3-story structure, with a basement. Together, the two structures contain barracks-type lodging, as well as office spaces, restrooms, laundry rooms, storage, an open area called the Hammerhead Training Room, and the mechanical equipment for B2410.
