MAUMEE, OH – CMS Corporation (CMS), an experienced Department of Defense (DoD) construction prime contractor, announced today it was recently awarded a $9 million design-build (D-B) project to repair Hangar 706 at Dover AFB, DE. Dover AFB is under the operational control of the Air Mobility Command (AMC). The 436th Air Wing is the host wing and runs the busiest and largest air freight terminal in the DoD.
The scope of work for this project includes design and multi-disciplined construction to update and repair architectural/interior, HVAC, controls, fire protection, fire alarm system, and electrical at the hangar. The project also includes repairs to exterior wash rack drains at the site. Century Engineering is a member of the CMS D-B team and will be the Designer of Record (DOR) for this project.
The U.S. Air Force awarded this project to CMS – a prime contract holder under the $2.5 billion suite of Regional Engineering and Construction (RE&C) multiple award contracts for work at US Air Force installations across the United States. Company CEO Ernest Enrique noted, “CMS D-B Team members have a long, successful work history at Dover Air Force Base. Our institutional knowledge, coupled with our past experience and lessons learned at Dover, will ensure successful project delivery. CMS is currently working at the Base to execute Phase V of a project to bury primary overhead electrical lines base-wide. We look forward to executing these projects efficiently and safely in support of the Base mission.”

Projects under the MACC may include single- or multi-discipline design services and/or general building construction for new, renovation and addition-type projects at the Base, as well as interior design, lead and asbestos abatement and/or incorporation of sustainable features.
