Maumee, OH – CMS Corporation (CMS), in a joint venture (JV) with COLAS Construction USA (CMS COLAS Construction LLC), announced today that it has been awarded a $66.5M task order to repair the West Runway at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph in Texas. This is the first task order awarded under the Air Force’s $15 billion worldwide Comprehensive Construction & Engineering (C2E) indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract.
The project will support the long-term operational readiness of one of the U.S. Air Force’s premier pilot training installations. Through a highly coordinated approach focused on safety, quality, and schedule performance, the team will work to modernize critical airfield infrastructure, while minimizing disruptions to daily flight operations and training activities.
On this project, CMS will lead the replacement of the West Runway’s stormwater system, improve drainage through mass earthwork activities, perform panel replacements and repairs, mill and overlay the runway’s asphalt center, repair and seal minor cracks, provide pavement markings, complete cured-in-place pipe lining repairs to storm drainage infrastructure, groove pavement, and replace the runway lighting system.
“CMS is proud to support the modernization of Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph and contribute to the long-term mission readiness of one of the Air Force’s premier pilot training installations,” said Ernest Enrique, Chairman/CEO of CMS. “This project reflects our experience delivering complex airfield infrastructure improvements in active operational environments.”
