Maumee, OH – CMS Corporation announced today that CMS K.K., its Japan subsidiary, in a joint venture (JV) with Obayashi Corporation, called Obayashi CMS JV, has been awarded a $60 million contract to Construct Bulk Storage Tank, Ph1 at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Iwakuni, Japan.
The scope of this project is to demolish three existing 10,000-BBL aboveground fuel storage tanks and associated concrete containments, fuel piping, aqueous film forming foam (AFFF) piping, and civil and electrical utilities. We will also construct new facilities at the site, including a new 72,000-BBL (3,024,000-gallon) field-constructed aboveground fuel tank with automatic tank gauging, and associated concrete containment, fuel piping, and civil and electrical utilities.
This project is being contracted out of the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Japan District office at Camp Zama, Japan. “This award is a major milestone for CMS K.K. and our Japanese partner, Obayashi Corporation.
