Maumee, OH – CMS Corporation announced today it has been awarded a $36.3 million project to construct a payload storage facility at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS), FL.
The scope of work under this project includes building an approx. 6,800-SF storage area as an addition to an existing facility. Unique features of this rectangular steel structure will include an interior building height of 132 feet, with a 35-foot-wide x 100-foot-tall door to facilitate the movement of equipment into and out of the facility. The addition will also be built to “clean room” specifications. The facility will have its own dedicated HVAC system and power supply. Beyond the unique construction features of this project, key challenges will be working in a restricted area and constructing the addition adjacent to an occupied building without impacting other operations.
CMS Chairman and CEO, Ernest Enrique, PE, stated, “We look forward to working with the government team to complete this project. We are pleased to be chosen for this work, as our familiarity with the Base, in addition to our incredibly high standards of safety and quality control, will ensure successful project delivery.”
