Maumee, OH – CMS announced today it has achieved DIAMOND level status in the Associated Builders and Contractors’ (ABC) STEP Safety Management System. Founded more than three decades ago, STEP is a proven system that provides the framework to measure, strengthen and build industry-leading safety programs that enable top-performing ABC members to achieve incident rates nearly six times safer than the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics construction industry average.
This prestigious recognition reflects CMS’s unwavering commitment to creating a culture of safety that protects everyone. The DIAMOND level is the highest recognition in the STEP program, demonstrating CMS’s proactive approach to hazard identification, employee training, and continuous improvement in safety practices across all of its projects.
“Safety is more than a metric—it’s a core value at CMS,” said Ernest Enrique, CEO/Chairman at CMS. “Earning STEP DIAMOND status reaffirms that our team is not only committed to excellence in construction, but also to sending every worker home safely each day. It’s an honor that reflects the discipline, care, and dedication of every individual on our team.”
