Maumee, OH – CMS Corporation is excited to announce that it has been awarded an $11.4 million contract for the comprehensive repair of the HVAC system in Building 3453 at Goodfellow Air Force Base (AFB), TX. This project, secured under CMS’s Air Force Regional Engineering & Construction (RE&C) Central Region contract, marks another significant achievement for CMS in supporting the vital infrastructure needs of military installations.
The scope of work for this project involves a complete overhaul of the building’s HVAC system. CMS will replace the outdated Dedicated Outside Air System (DOAS) and its associated chilled and heating water piping, fan coil units, and all supply, return, and exhaust air duct systems. We will also upgrade the hydronic piping across the high-bay area and ensure its integration with existing systems in Wing A. Additionally, a new DOAS unit and controls will be installed for Mechanical Room 161, alongside the replacement of water-side equipment and piping in Mechanical Rooms 127A and 161. The project also includes the installation of new suspended ceiling systems and gypsum board ceilings throughout the building.
Given that Building 3453 will remain occupied during construction, CMS has planned a phased approach, with occupants being relocated between six construction phases. To maintain occupant comfort, a temporary trailer-mounted DOAS unit will be utilized during the construction period, which spans 496 calendar days.
“Securing this HVAC repair project at Goodfellow AFB is a testament to CMS’s ability to address complex facility needs with precision and care,” said Ernest Enrique, Chairman and CEO of CMS Corporation. “We are proud to contribute to the base’s operational excellence and ensure that the Fire Training Building remains a vital asset for training and readiness. Our commitment to quality and client satisfaction drives us to deliver exceptional results on every project.”
