Maumee, OH – CMS Corporation (CMS) announced today that work on the Renovate/Expand Hangar 6 project at Andersen AFB, Guam, has earned the company a national Excellence in Construction® (EIC) Pyramid Award, presented during ABC Convention 2024 in Orlando, Florida, on March 14. The EIC awards recognized 91 of the nation’s top construction projects in 2023 as the leading national competition that annually honors general and specialty contractors for industry-leading, safe, and innovative construction projects from across the country.
“We are honored to receive the ABC EIC Pyramid award for our Hangar 6 renovation project in Guam,” stated CMS Chairman and CEO, Ernest Enrique. “This project exemplifies our commitment to excellence and dedication to supporting the strategic goals of our military partners. Our success is a testament to the commitment of our team and the strong partnerships we’ve built on Guam over the last fourteen years.”
The CMS Team renovated Hangar 6 in Guam, expanding aircraft maintenance areas and offices in an 18,900-square-foot portion of the 64,000-square-foot hangar. These enhancements resulted in improved efficiency in a strategically important US military hub.
“This exemplary project is the pinnacle of quality, safety, and innovation in our industry, showcasing the incredible structures and teams at CMS that build the best of the best in merit shop construction,” said 2024 National Chair of the ABC Board of Directors Buddy Henley, president, Henley Construction Co. Inc., Gaithersburg, Maryland. “Renovate/Expand Hangar 6 is an industry-leading construction project, showing how ABC members build projects safely, on time, and on budget. It is an honor to congratulate CMS for showcasing construction excellence.”
The EIC awards honor every member of the construction team, including the contractor, owner, architect, and engineer. The winning projects are judged on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges overcome, completion time, innovation, and safety. A full list of EIC winners is available on ABC’s website.
