Maumee, OH – CMS Corporation, an experienced Department of Defense general contractor, announced today it has been awarded a $2.3M Advanced Meter Reading System (AMRS) Metering Implementation project at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base (AFB), AZ. This task order was awarded under the US Air Force Regional Engineering & Construction (RE&C) West IDIQ, and closely follows a similar $1.7M AMRS project at Vandenberg Space Force Base (SFB), CA, awarded just days ago, marking CMS’ ninth AMRS project in the past several years.
This project entails the purchase and installation of 99 new AMRS-compliant electric meters and 68 new gas meters across 95 secure and non-secure facilities basewide. The new meters allow the Government to track energy usage in a more efficient manner. In addition to the new electric and gas meters, other scopes of work will include adding pulse kits, communications switches, new communication drops, fused safety disconnects and switches, patch panels, new electrical conduit runs, some underground trenching, testing and commissioning.
CMS CEO, Ernest Enrique, stated, “We are pleased with the growth of our AMRS program over the last few years, and confident that our expertise in AMRS metering implementation will ensure successful project delivery. We look forward to facilitating the Air Force’s overall strategy to improve energy performance and reduce energy costs at Davis-Monthan AFB by allowing them to better monitor and track their energy usage.”
