MAUMEE, OH – CMS Corporation (CMS), under a joint venture arrangement with Jack Wayte Construction (JWC) called RM Builders, has been awarded a $95 million Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) with USACE Kansas City District. (JWC, an 8(a), WOSB, and EDWOSB, is a protégé to CMS, the mentor, under an SBA-approved Mentor-Protégé Agreement.) This contract is 100% set-aside for Small Business, with a 3-year ordering period and task orders valued up to $15 million. Task orders will be design-build (D-B) or design-bid-build (DBB) for a broad range of military construction and renovation work within the geographic boundaries of the Kansas City District, but may also be used to support other projects located within the larger Northwestern Division of USACE. Scopes of work may include construction of new facilities, renovation, general interior finish upgrades and space reconfiguration, electrical service improvements, roofing materials replacement, mechanical systems repair, storm drainage structure repair, and plumbing repairs and improvements. Facilities worked at may include industrial, distribution, manufacturing, office, retail, recreational, healthcare, residential, and commercial use.
There was tremendous competition for this contract. USACE received 40 proposals. RM Builders is one of only six firms awarded a contract. The estimated contract completion is January 2022. USACE Kansas City is the contracting agency.
