MAUMEE, OH – The JWC CMS JV II, a joint venture (JV) between Jack Wayte Construction (JWC) and CMS Corporation (CMS), has been awarded a Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) set-aside Design-Build (D-B) Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) by USACE Tulsa District. Tasks performed under the MATOC will include construction projects in the Southwest District boundaries, which include Oklahoma and Northern Texas. Projects under this MATOC will range in value up to $10 million, with a total combined contract value of $49 million over a 5-year period of performance (3-year base plus two 1-year options).
Work under this MATOC will include a wide variety of new construction, maintenance, repair, alteration and minor construction type tasks for military Interagency and International Services, and civil works projects. Scopes of work may include, but are not limited to, planning, design, total facility renovation, new construction, repairs and alterations, preventative maintenance, installation/construction of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, elevators, building envelope, fire protection, antiterrorism/force protection (AT/FP), environmental abatement (e.g., asbestos and lead paint abatement), and operations activities.
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) approved a formal Mentor/Protégé Agreement (MPA) between the JV member firms in April 2015, with CMS as the Mentor and JWC as the Protégé. CMS is an award-winning small business with over 20 years of experience in design-build, new construction, renovation, and mechanical/fabrication work for the federal government and commercial clients. Based in Alamogordo, NM, JWC has been in business for 56 years. They have experience in renovation, design-build, and heavy civil construction in both the public and private sectors. JWC is a family owned and operated 8(a) and economically disadvantaged woman-owned small business.
