CMS performed mechanical scope of work, including campus-wide systems integration, for the construction of a new 3-story (plus basement), 107,800 SF multidisciplinary engineering research building (“Flex Lab”) at Purdue University. The building features 1,840 SF of high-bay lab space, a canopy with a 20’ cantilever, and a structural steel vestibule to mark the entry to the facility.

As the prime mechanical subcontractor for this $54M state-of-the-art facility, CMS met the prime contractor’s mechanical requirements and expectations for constructability, design, function, operation, and life span. CMS self-performed over half the mechanical scope and also managed specialized mechanical contractors for quality, timeliness, and professional conduct.
