CMS Cares
At CMS, We Care.
Our team members consistently step up for the causes closest to their hearts, whether that means rolling up their sleeves to volunteer or contributing financially to organizations doing work that matters most to them.
Through CMS Cares, we match team members’ donations to eligible nonprofit organizations, doubling the impact of every gift. Paired with the volunteer efforts woven into our culture, this program reflects our ongoing investment in the people and places that matter most to us.
CMS Cares is built around three focus areas:
- Community — strengthening the neighborhoods we call home
- Veterans — recognizing and supporting those who’ve served our country
- Disaster Relief — showing up with help when it’s needed most
Community
Rebuilding Together
CMS volunteers in Saint Louis and surrounding states come together every year to complete projects with Rebuilding Together Saint Louis, providing home modifications and repairs for income-qualified older adults, veterans and people with disabilities, all with one goal in mind: safety, our number one value at CMS, and one we’re proud to carry beyond our offices and job sites, and into the homes of the communities we serve.
Stuff the Bus & Gift of Joy Campaign
Each year, CMS team members come together for two initiatives that support children in Lucas County, Ohio — because we believe every child deserves both the tools to succeed and a reason to smile.
Our Stuff the Bus drive kicks off the school year by collecting backpacks, notebooks, and other essential supplies for local students, helping ensure they’re ready to learn from Day One. What began as a local supply drive has grown into one of our most beloved traditions.
As the year winds down, we extend that same spirit of giving through the Gift of Joy toy drive, supporting children served by Lucas County Children Services. More than 200 foster and kinship care families across the county have children hoping for everything from LEGOs to Barbies and other special surprises, with Gift of Joy providing toys and gifts for kids from newborns through age 18.
Together, these two initiatives reflect who we are as a company — neighbors invested in the wellbeing of the community we call home. From backpacks in the fall to toys in the winter, our team members show up for Lucas County’s children year after year.
American Heart Association – Northwest Ohio Heart Ball
Since 2025, CMS proudly supports the American Heart Association’s Northwest Ohio Heart Ball, an event dedicated to raising funds and awareness in the fight against heart disease and strokes. Through sponsorship and team member involvement, we help advance lifesaving research and education that make a real difference in the health of our communities.
Tri Kappa
Every year, CMS proudly sponsors Tri Kappa Blingo, Tri Kappa – Alpha Chapter’s largest annual fundraiser in Bloomington, Indiana. Tri Kappa is an invitation-only philanthropic sorority, focusing its efforts on charity, culture, and education. Tri Kappa empowers women through unselfish relationships by serving others and meeting the needs of the community.
Veterans
HIRE Vets Platinum Medallion Award
At CMS, supporting veterans starts with opportunity. We’re committed to recruiting, hiring, and retaining veterans across our organization, building a workplace where their skills, leadership, and experience are recognized and put to work.
That commitment hasn’t gone unnoticed. CMS has been awarded the HIRE Vets Platinum Medallion Award by the U.S. Department of Labor for five consecutive years, the only federal award recognizing employers who successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans. It’s a distinction we’re proud of, but more than that, it’s a reflection of a culture that shows up for veterans every day, not just on the days we’re recognized for it.
Disaster Relief
When Disaster Strikes, We Stand Together
Disasters don’t wait, and neither do we. When tragedy strikes anywhere in the world — whether it’s a hurricane, earthquake, wildfire, or humanitarian crisis — we will match 100% of team member donations made to eligible relief efforts through our internal donation program, dollar for dollar.
This is about standing with people everywhere, doubling the impact of every gift our team members choose to give – no matter where in the world help is needed most.
