CMS renovated BQ 846, an existing 119,268 SF bachelor housing complex consisting primarily of two 3-story quad buildings. The quad buildings house modules of four individual 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom units accessed off a small common foyer. The common foyer typically houses a laundry closet and an electrical/telephone closet. Other spaces in the building complex include administrative offices, a commons/recreational area, laundry facility, network, mechanical, and electrical rooms, and storage rooms. Repair and renovation work included upgrades to the building exterior, mechanical systems, and bathrooms and finishes (ceilings, carpet, paint). Work incorporated sustainable energy features, such as sealing the building envelope and the use of high-efficiency HVAC equipment.
